Millennium Sculpture

1999 - Burlington City Park, Burlington, Vermont

In Burlington City Park, a  27’ high stainless steel steeple, a Burlington City Arts commission, is supported by  four Vermont granite post with a motor pendulum that sounds a low soft tone a t e pendulum swings every 4 seconds. The sounds serves as a reminder that time is ceaselessly moving forward audible only when in close proximity you can hear time ticking by. The space below the steeple allow you stand and peer up at the pendulum You are then standing on a coper plate that houses a time capsule- messages for a new millennium.
